My Inspiration for Heartfelt Blooms

12/11/2018

Welcome! Bienvenue! Willkommen! Bienvenido! Aloha!

I am so pleased to introduce the brand spanking new blog page here on the Thirsty Brush website! Each Monday there will be a new blog post for you to enjoy, featuring the news, tutorials, inspiration and more from me - Claire Manning, and my fabulous design team girls Kerry & Liane.

Last Monday saw the amazing Live launch of the new Heartfelt Blooms stamp and die collection live on Create & Craft TV. We also added a brand new product type to the Thirsty Brush range - stencils!!!

My inspiration behind this new collection really came from my love of sketching flowers. Either, from photographs I have taken on leisurely walks through botanical gardens or using cut flowers from florist bouquets on my desk. Although not a trained botanical illustrator, botany and studying how varieties of different flowers are formed, open from bud to full bloom, got my creative juices flowing. Before I knew it, I had four varieties of different floral images, all sketched from bud to bloom and differing angles. Perfect for stamping on cards and other projects.

The idea for the co-dinating dies, was to really add a unique touch of dimension to your makes. They allow the blooms to come alive from the page and open up a myriad of opportunities for using different paper types in your projects that may have been sat redundant in your stash!

Then we have the super beautiful and versatile stencils. Those of you that are familiar with my style, know I’m a clean and simple girl at heart and like white space. I do however, also love making watercolour backgrounds and so the hand painted stencil collection was born! Each stencil design was originally hand painted in watercolour, giving you an authentic, unique pattern to make background papers, home decor pieces and add touches to your cards that feel natural and have that personal look we all want to achieve.

I’ve had some lovely feedback from you happy crafters about how much you are loving these designs, and have heard a lot of you say you have already started to receive your products and are starting to play. Yay! Make sure to share your makes with me and other crafters using the social media links below.

As an extra special bonus for you, I will be adding an extra post this week on Thursday (normal weekly posts will be each Monday) showing how to create a beautiful lily card using the ‘Elegant Just Like you’ stamp and co-ordinating die set, featuring a background made using the hand painted chevrons stencil.

I can’t wait to share lots more crafty ideas with you on this blog, so stay tuned and add this page to your bookmarks for easy access.

Thanks for reading! Claire x
