Stencil Background Vintage Cut Rose Card with Claire

01/04/2019

Hello Happy Crafties! How are we? Hope you are enjoying the light evenings. It almost feels like summer! Well. Until the cold comes back later this week eh?!

So, tomorrow is the launch of Thirsty Brushes 6th Collection - Sketch Happy. But, before we talk about that, I want to thank you all for being a fabulous bunch of stampers! I am loving showing you each new collection and what they can do, and to get a sell out on the bundle last week was just the icing on the cake. Thank you.

If you love Vintage style, you will adore the new collection! 6 HUGE vintage botanical inspired floral stamps which come with a combo of verses and some EVEN MORE HUGE sentiments. Combined with the dies, the designs can give you a classic vintage look or a more modern take on the trend. Myself and the fabulous Design Team ladies have posted lots of samples on social media, and there will be even more to inspire you during the live show on Create & Craft.

Todays project is a bit of a teaser really, I’m saving the really big sentiments until tomorrow ;) So this a classic mat and layered card with the die cut ‘Vintage Cut Rose’ design and a stencilled background. The stencil is one from last weeks release, so if you are waiting on delivery of this here’s a good project for you to try when it arrives.

You will need:

How to do it:

  1. Trim the purple card stock to a little smaller than your card blank
  2. Trim a piece of white card stock to 7” x 7” (17.5cm x 17.5cm)
  3. Using the ink spray, spray through the stencil onto the white card stock. Spraying two complimenting colours gives a really nice vintage-y look. Leave the background to dry
  4. On, some more white card stock, stamp the floral image from the Vintage Cut Rose stamp set
  5. Colour the image with watercolour, pens or inks and die cut
  6. Die cut one of the sentiment mats of your choice from the collection
  7. Stamp the co-ordinating sentiment in embossing ink and emboss with a powder of your choice
  8. Adhere the purple card and stencilled back ground onto the card blank
  9. Add the floral design and sentiment using small foam pads

This is a very classic card for me, but I like how utilising those classic card making techniques compliment the stamp design perfectly.

See tomorrow at 11am at the LIVE launch for more crafty Inspo! Create and Craft is on sky 683, Virgin 748 and Freeview 23. You can also stream the show via createandcraft.com or via the Create and Craft app.’
